Bangladesh completed a 2-0 whitewash of Pakistan on Pakistan soil, as they sealed a six-wicket win in the second Test at Rawalpindi, despite Day 1 being washed out. Pakistan held a 12-0 record over Bangladesh in Test cricket before the series. Bangladesh, meanwhile, had never won a series game in Pakistan before the series, having a 0-20 record. But that has all changed now. This is also only the second-ever Test series victory for Bangladesh on away soil. Pakistan's dismal performance has drawn criticism from experts in the cricket world.

"I remember saying some time ago that the shorter the game, the more dangerous Pakistan would be, and, almost as a consequence, that the longer the game, the more vulnerable they would be. But I didn't expect it to be this stark," he added on his post on 'X'.

Pakistan vs Bangladesh, 2nd Test: As it happened

After Day 1 was completely washed out, Pakistan were bowled out for 274 on Day 2. However, it seemed like they would gain a sizeable lead, as Bangladesh were tottering at 26/6 in their first innings. However, a resilient Bangladesh comeback, led by Litton Das' 138 off 228 balls, took Bangladesh to within 12 runs of the Pakistan total.

Bangladesh then managed to bowl out Pakistan for 172 in the second innings, with Hasan Mahmud grabbing a five-fer. Chasing the score, every Bangladesh batter put up a 20-plus score, guiding the team to a historic series win.

Earlier, Bangladesh had won the first Test, also at Rawalpindi, by 10 wickets after a Pakistan second innings collapse.

Bangladesh leap up to an unprecedented fourth spot in the World Test Championship (WTC) 2023-25 cycle standings, while Pakistan are almost certainly out of contention for the final.

"Has Mental Issue": Yuvraj's Old Comment Viral After Father's Dhoni Rant

In the light of Yuvraj Singh's father Yograj Singh's heated attack on legendary India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni, another interesting video has resurfaced online. In this video, Yuvraj Singh can be seen admitting that his father has a "mental issue". Yuvraj's father Yograj has made critical comments about MS Dhoni, and went one step further recently, when he stated that he would not "forgive" Dhoni for what the latter had done to his son. Now, Yuvraj's comment has gone viral on social media.

In a clip taken from a podcast run by social media influencer Ranveer Allahbadia, Yuvraj admits that his father may have some mental issues.

While Yuvraj admitted that his father has been successful in his life, he does not accept certain things.

"I feel that there are some things he needs to address, but he just doesn't accept it," Yuvraj added.

Yuvraj and Dhoni had been teammates for over a decade in India colours, and at one point, Yuvraj had served as vice-captain to Dhoni. However, a point of contention often arises from the fact that Dhoni had been given the captaincy after Rahul Dravid in 2007, despite Yuvraj being the vice-captain to Dravid as well.

"I won't forgive MS Dhoni. He should look at his face in the mirror. He is a very big cricketer, but what he has done against my son, everything is coming out now; it can never be forgiven in life.," Yograj had said on the Zee Switch YouTube channel.

The latest saga gives another angle to the relationship between two of India's finest match-winners in recent history. In fact, they were the two batters at the crease when India clinched the 2011 Cricket World Cup.

"Can't Throw Them...": Blunt Pak Skipper On Dropping Shaheen, Naseem

Pakistan Test captain Shan Masood has backed the decision to drop the star pace duo of Shaheen Afridi and Naseem Shah for the second game of the two-match series. Pakistan endured a series whitewash against Bangladesh on Tuesday in Rawalpindi. Pakistan made a bold move before the second Test by dropping Shaheen and Naseem from the playing XI amidst their dwindling form. The pace set-up of Mir Hamza, Mohammad Ali and Khurram Shahzad worked wonders in the first innings but then faded.

Masood backed the decision to exclude Shaheen and Naseem and said they play in all three formats and the team management cannot be harsh on them. He also spoke of the need of discovering potential of other players and nurturing them for the future.

"Like I said, it's never doom and gloom. You always keep trying, you always come back. You always learn from your mistakes and you try and give people a chance. And I think that we're heading in the right direction. We have been consistent with selection, we had Khurram, Muhammad Ali Daisy, and Mir Hamza play this test series," Masood said in the post-match presentation.

"We are trying to keep consistency with red ball performances as well. We've got Shaheen and Nasim back in the fold as well. We can't be harsh on them because they're playing all three formats. If Shaheen has played consistently for a year, you can't just throw them in every game. And you have to build up your stocks as well. So we've got a lot to look at," he added.

On Day 4, the Pakistan Test head coach Jason Gillespie addressed the omission of Shaheen and Naseem from the playing XI and highlighted that the team is not looking to rely on individuals. The iconic Australian pacer stated that he wants to see Shaheen peak and start firing at the top level.

"There are a few things that we are hoping Shaheen can work on. He had a pretty eventful time in his personal life as well. We want Shaheen Afridi to be at his very best for as much cricket as possible. He is an all-format player, and we have a pretty heavy schedule, and we want him to be fit and firing," he said.

Naseem and Shaheen had a mediocre T20 World Cup, which saw Pakistan crash out in the group stage. Both pacers scythed five wickets each despite playing on a surface that assisted the pacers.

The two bowlers could not do much in the first Test. Pakistan lost the second Test as well suffering a series defeat.

Suryakumar Yadav To Miss First Round Of Duleep Trophy 2024-25

Team India T20I skipper Suryakumar Yadav is set to miss the first round of the 2024-25 season of the Duleep Trophy after suffering an injury during last week's pre-season fixture for Mumbai at the Buchi Babu Invitational Tournament in Coimbatore. In the match against TNCA XI last week, Suryakumar did not bat in the second innings due to a hand injury sustained during the third day while fielding. The right-hand batter has been advised to take a rest and he is currently at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in order to recover from his injury.

In 82 first-class matches, he has scored 5,628 runs with a healthy average of 43.62 with 14 hundreds to his name.

Earlier, in a bid to find his way into the Test squad, the 33-year-old emphasised that the longest format has always been his priority.

"Red-ball cricket has always been my priority. When I grew up in the maidans (grounds) of Mumbai and played a lot of local cricket, I started playing with the red cherry. The love for the longest format began there, and has always been there," said Suryakumar as quoted by ICC.

"I have taken part in a lot of first-class matches for more than ten years now and I still cherish playing this format," he concluded.

Difference Between Captains Kohli, Rohit And Dhoni? R Ashwin Hits Bullseye

Indian cricket team off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin opened up about the major differences in captaincy styles of MS Dhoni, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. Ashwin has played under all of their captaincy and was part of the team's significant achievements in the past decade. There have been many comparisons between the three India captains in the recent past but Ashwin pointed out a major area where Rohit is quite different from both Virat and Dhoni. He said that Rohit is much more tactical than the other two.

"2-3 things are nice about Rohit's captaincy. He always keep the environment of the team light. He makes an effort to keep it light. And he stays very balanced and tactically he is strong. Both Dhoni and Virat were also tactically strong but Rohit works more on the tactics,” said Ashwin in an interview with Vimal Kumar.

Ashwin also revealed that ahead of any major match or series, Rohit sits with the Indian cricket team analytics team and charts out a proper strategy involving specific plans for certain cricketers.

“If there is any big match or series coming up, Rohit sits with the analytics team and coach and prepares for it, like what's the weakness of a particular batsman, what's the plan of a bowler. That's his strength but he always keeps the environment of the team light and backs the players. If he selects a player in the XI, he backs them 100%. I have played most of my career with these three captains,” he added.

Yograj, who has himself played for India having made 7 appearances in the past at the highest level, keeps criticising former India captain Dhoni on the public platform, accusing him of destroying his son Yuvraj career. In his fresh attack on Dhoni, Yograj has said that Dhoni will never be forgiven in life. The comment from Yograj has gone viral on social media.

"CSK lost IPL 2024. Why did they lose? It's whatever you sow, so shall you reap. Yuvraj Singh is the ICC Ambassador, hats off to him! And this jealous Dhoni, where is he? He didn't even shake hands with Yuvraj, and that is the reason why CSK failed this year," Yograj had claimed in a viral video.

Meanwhile, Dhoni announced his retirment from international cricket in August 2020. However, the 43-year-old is still active as a player in the IPL. However, Dhoni's future with CSK remains uncertain as there is no clarity whether the legendary stumper will take part in the IPL next year.
