Imran Tahir Becomes Fourth Player Ever To Claim 500 wickets In T20 Cricket

South Africa's experienced spinner Imran Tahir completed 500 wickets in the T20 format and became just the fourth player to achieve the remarkable feat. The 44-year-old completed the feat during the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) clash between Rangpur Riders and Khulna Tigers. He played a crucial role in Rangpur's victory with his figure of 5/26 in his four-over spell. With this five-wicket haul, he joined the elite company of Dwayne Bravo, Rashid Khan and Sunil Narine. Former West Indies skipper DJ Bravo leads the chart with 624 wickets in 571 appearances in the T20 format. Afghanistan's ace spinner Rashid Khan has scalped 556 wickets in 410 matches and West Indies mystery spinner Sunil Narine sits on the third spot with 532 wickets to his name.

Coming to the match, Rangpur skipper Nurul Hasan won the toss and elected to bat at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium.

After Luke Wood dismissed both openers in a span of four overs, Shakib Al Hasan fought valiantly and played a blistering knock of 69. He stitched up a crucial 109-run partnership with Mahedi Hasan (60) to a score of 219/5.

Skipper Hasan's (32 off 13 deliveries) fireworks at the end played a crucial role in setting the mammoth total of 220.

While chasing the target, Khulana were reduced to 141, as Tahir spun the opening order. He dismissed set batter Alex Hales (60) along with skipper Anamul Haque (5), Afif Hossain (11), Habibur Rahman (13) and Akbar Ali (0).

India's Loss To Australia In U19 World Cup Final Triggers Epic Meme Fest

The memories of the fateful night of November 19, 2023 are still fresh in the hearts of the millions of Indian fans. It was the day when the Rohit Sharma-led side got edged past by Australia and lost the coveted ODI World Cup trophy. However, the fans had to relive that night again as India failed to clinch the Under-19 World Cup title after losing to Australia in the summit clash on Sunday. Just like the senior team, Uday Saharan and co had a phenomenal campaign as they remained unbeaten in the tournament, before losing to Australia in the final.

This was India's third consecutive loss against Australia in an ICC final. Earlier, they lost in the ODI World Cup 2023 and and World Test Championship final.

After India's heartbreaking loss in the Under-19 World Cup final, social media got flooded with several memes.

Talking about the match, batting by choice, the Aussies posted a healthy 253 for seven as India were forced to mount the highest chase in a youth World Cup summit clash.

But Uday Saharan's side floundered in the final step to glory, stumbling to 174 all out as the relentless Aussie bowlers led by the furious Mahli Beardman (3/15) and the crafty off-spinner Raf MacMillan (3/43) did not give them any breathing space.

This was Australia's fourth U19 title and first since 2010 and, in a way, they also washed away the pain of losing to India in two title matches in 2012 and 2018.
